The workshops are held at Bablake School, Coventry and run weekly throughout term time.
The workshops aim to provide the students with skills in three key areas, drama, dance and voice. Giving each child the opportunity to develop performance ability under the tuition of highly trained professional artists.
In drama the work is developed through the stimulation of creativity, using games, improvisation and text based work. There is a strong emphasis on devising, allowing each student the opportunity to employ their imaginations and create their own work.
Overall the workshops aim to increase each student's confidence and self esteem as competent performers, working in an environment that is established to support and encourage every young person and where they always support each other.
In voice the work ranges from the delivery of text, projection and dialect to song and the skills required to use the voice imaginatively and proficiently.
In movement each student will gain the skills necessary to work creatively through dance. They explore movement through a wide variety of techniques, stressing the importance of understanding the body's use as a means of expression.
